Modern Day, England

Briarwick doesn't officially exist on any maps.

But the village very much exists deep past the woods. Nobody normally crosses the woods enough to come to this tiny village with perhaps just a hundred people. And every single person in the village revolves around one man.

Rune Ryswell.

A mysterious, quiet, melancholic man you’ve heard nothing about. Nobody outside this village even knows this man exists. At first glance, you see there’s nothing wrong with him. He’s a little shy, quieter than normal, and keeps his deep thoughts to himself because he doesn’t think anyone would be interested. When you come to the village, everybody seems excited. They don’t get visitors that often. So they welcome you in with open arms. The only thing peculiar about it is that you notice these people seem to be preparing for a wedding. You ask whose wedding, they tell you Rune’s.

But then why did his escaped bride come to your doorstep weeks ago? Why did Delilah tell you about a man who collects brides but tosses them away when he feels like they don’t love him anymore? Why did the crying, battered woman tell you about the people who feed on the brides?

And more importantly... Who is Rune marrying?
