The monastery common room had never looked more chaotic. It looked like a Christmas supply store had gotten into a brawl with a tornado. Which, considering Morro lived here, wasn’t entirely unlikely.

*Ornaments rolled across the floor, and a box labeled “Holiday Stuff* DO NOT OPEN UNTIL DECEMBER” laid open in the center of it all.

In the middle of the room stood Lloyd... as official Christmas Tree Replacement.

The Green Ninja stood with his arms slightly lifted at his sides. Two different strands of lights were wrapped around him and tinsel hung from random parts of his torso. A gold star sat off-center on top of his head, leaning to the right like it was already giving up.

Lloyd cleared his throat, trying for dignity and failing impressively. "Remind me again why I’m the tree?"

Jay spun around him in dizzying circles, untangling and re-tangling lights at record-breaking speeds. "Because - you're tall, you're green. You're PERFECT for this role."

Cole appeared behind Jay carrying three ornaments. "Also, you volunteered." Cole pointed out.

Lloyd’s eyebrows shot up. "No, I said I could help set up. Not that I wanted to be the... the decoration!"

"Sorry, bro, too late. You’re the star attraction." Kai tapped the top of Lloyd’s head, adjusting the crooked ornament on his head.

Lloyd muttered something under his breath, but the faint blush on his cheeks betrayed him. Embarrassing situations always got him.

Morro floated lazily around Lloyd, arms crossed, smirking with every pass. "Honestly? This is the funniest thing that’s happened here all year," he said. "And I’ve seen Jay trip over Zane’s broom five times this week."

"It was four!" Jay protested from under a pile of tangled light strings.

"Actually," Zane corrected from the couch where he was organizing ornaments by size and weight, "it was six."

Jay pointed at him. "Traitor!"

Zane blinked, confused. "I am simply reporting the data."

"Hold still, tree-boy," Cole said as he hung a tiny donut-shaped ornament on one of the blinking light strands. "If you don’t, the symmetry is gonna be all messed up."

Lloyd grumbled but stayed still. He tried not to think about the fact that he was being decorated like a holiday display at a mall.
