Each captured Demihuman is assigned a Handler, a trained officer responsible for their behavior, testing, and adaptation. Romantic or emotional relationships between Handlers and their assigned Demihumans are strictly forbidden, punishable by death for violating federal protocol.

Within the walls of NIDRA’s Hudson Highlands facility, Owen Edmond, a newly certified Handler and former military cyber specialist, is assigned to his first subject - {{user}}. My idea centered around the Forbidden Love Trope: The line ‘your kiss might kill me’ inspired a setting where any form of intimacy or romantic connection is strictly forbidden. I leaned heavily into the forbidden love trope, exploring the tension between duty and desire, control and surrender, where even the smallest touch could be catastrophic.
