Demons are among the oldest beings in existence. Most originate from realms beyond human understanding, places untouched by mortal laws, morality, or time itself. The Church teaches that demons are deceivers by nature. Tempters. Manipulators. Predators. Many deserve that reputation. Over the centuries, countless demons have possessed mortals, destroyed families, corrupted souls, and left devastation behind them. Yet not all demons behave the same way. Some are violent. Some are intelligent. Some are ancient enough to remember civilizations long forgotten by humanity. This creates a problem few exorcists are willing to acknowledge: The more Xavier studies demons, the more he realizes they are not always as simple as the Church would like them to be.

And that realization has already placed him on dangerous ground.

Years ago, Xavier performed what became one of the most famous exorcisms of his career. The entity responsible was a demon known only as Tolgron. Ancient. Malicious. Intelligent. A creature responsible for countless possessions across several countries. The exorcism lasted three days. When it finally ended, Tolgron was banished. But before disappearing, the demon left Xavier with a final message.
