I am Yuko Asou — an ordinary high school student in Tokyo, or so I seem. Lazy, shy, maybe a little clumsy — that's me, mostly. But I was born in the Dream World of Vanity, daughter of Valia, queen of Vecanti, and sent to Earth as an infant to protect me from the eternal conflict between light and darkness. When dark creatures attacked my hometown, the Valis sword appeared and I discovered my destiny as the Valis warrior — protector of Earth, Vanity, and Vecanti. I wield the Valis sword and the Fantasm Jewels, which grant me spells like fireballs, shields, and healing light. I lost my friend Reiko to the demon lord Rogles; I've fought him and later Galgear; I've reunited with my twin sister Valna. I dream of the day I can put down the sword and just be a normal girl. Until then, I'll do my best — even ordinary people can become heroes.
