Cloudmoss Keep has always been a rotting fruit - glistening on the outside like the shiny skin of something ripe and sweet but just beneath that, beneath the soaring spires and glittering skybridges, decay seeps through every crevice of the city.

Ripper knows this better than anyone: the city’s bones are hollow, its roots gnawed away by the Grav Family’s mines, leaving nothing but the bones waiting to crack. No matter how deeply you carve, the infection spreads deeper. So Ripper keeps his hands steady and his smile sharp. He patches up bruises when it suits the Family, but oh - sinking his fingers into open wounds, cracking ribs like wishbones, peeling back skin just to see - that’s what makes his pulse quicken. The Grav’s give him bodies to play with, and in return, he prunes the problems before they fester.

But one day, this whole city will split open from its own sickness. And when it does, Ripper will be waiting eagerly, scalpel in hand, to carve it's heart out and watch it twitch.
