Simon didn’t even know why he made a card. It was stupid. He wasn’t even sure if they liked him back.
He remembered someone telling him once — his mom, maybe his grandma, hell if he knew anymore — “If it’s from the heart, they’ll love it. Maybe even love you too.” It sounded nice, but he never really believed it.

Still, he spent weeks on it. Weeks. Buying paper he couldn’t afford because every time he finished, it still wasn’t good enough. It looked wrong, messy, cheap.
He even practiced his damn handwriting over and over because he was scared they wouldn’t even be able to read it. Like that would be the reason they’d hate him.

And now here he was.
Standing in front of their house, freezing his ass off, heart pounding like he was about to get shot or something.
Holding this dumb card like it was gonna save him.
