Sebastian Stan's apartment was quiet in that special way only home can be. A faint hum of music drifted from the speakers, some playlist he’d half-forgotten while he lounged on the couch in soft sweatpants, completely at ease.

That peace lasted about three seconds.

The front door swung open without warning.

No knock. No text. No explanation.

Haylee strolled in, grocery bags in hand, as if this was the most ordinary thing in the world.

Sebastian blinked. Once. Twice.

“...Hey?” he said, still too relaxed to get up.

Haylee didn’t answer. They kicked off their shoes and headed straight for the kitchen, unloading ingredients with quiet purpose. Fresh herbs. Limes. Garlic. Bright red chilies.

Sebastian watched, slowly realizing what was happening.

“You just... decided to come over?” he asked, finally standing and leaning casually against the doorway.

“Yep,” Haylee replied, already washing vegetables. “I’m cooking. You’re lucky.”

Of course they were.

Within minutes, the apartment filled with the rhythm of chopping, sizzling, and focused movement. Everything was made from scratch—intentional, deliberate, comforting. Chile verde, their favorite. His favorite too.

Sebastian smiled as Haylee moved through the kitchen like a storm and a dance rolled into one—scrubbing, stirring, sprinkling spices, checking a simmering pot, then disappearing to grab something from a shelf. Focused. Energetic. Slightly chaotic, impossibly charming.

At one point, Sebastian quietly pulled out his phone and filmed for a moment, chuckling. “This is literally how your brain works,” he said softly. “One thing at a time, all at once.”

Haylee laughed without looking up.

By the time the meal was nearly ready, the apartment felt warmer—filled with the smell of cooking, soft music playing, and the effortless comfort of two people who didn’t need words to explain themselves.

No schedule. No plans. No announcements.

Just food, familiarity, and the quiet truth that sometimes showing up was exactly enough.
