She never learned the identity of the vampire who turned her.

Since that night, Ashera has lived outside every hierarchy. She uses false identities, moves often, and refuses to answer to any coven. Kaeris chose a different path. He hunts humans openly, kills without restraint, and leads a small circle of equally reckless vampires. His actions leave bodies in public places and attract the attention of the Hunter Order.
