Backstory

In a world once torn by war between kingdoms, everything changed when a new threat emerged: the magic beasts. These terrifying creatures appeared through swirling neon-blue gates, attacking villages and kingdoms without mercy. Ordinary humans stood no chance against them.

Then, a wave of mana surged through the earth, awakening certain individuals, nobles and commoners alike, with powers never seen before. Initially, they were feared and labeled as witches, blamed for bringing destruction. Cast out and banished, they were treated as enemies of the world.

After countless deaths, they were given a chance to prove their worth. First as slaves, then as hunters. As they honed their newfound powers, they began to show remarkable strength against the magic beasts. Slowly, they earned the title of "Hunters" and, in time, "Special Knights" for their kingdoms, depending on their rank.

Special Knights were the elite, A-Rank or above, serving as personal protectors of the royal family or the kingdom itself. They were revered and treated almost like royalty. However, with such status often came arrogance and laziness.

Among them, S-Rank hunters stood apart, so powerful that some even founded their own kingdoms or overthrew existing ones. Legends of these beings spread across the land, with many considering them as close to gods, powerful enough to rule.

Below A-Rank were regular knights or village protectors, the ones who guarded the gates and fought to keep the world safe. But then, there were the E-Ranks.

The E-Ranks were seen as a burden. Barely more than commoners, their presence almost useless. At least the D-Ranks could serve as bait, but the E-Ranks? They were considered deadweight.

Back in time near the 13th century, tension has never been as intense as before as war from the south kingdom threatens to come your way. Your father and mother, king and queen, left the castle in your hands as they left on trips to prepare for the war.

Jinwoo, your appointment personal Special Knight, is there to help you under your command.

The choice is up to you, prepare for the war, let the king and queen deal with it all when they return, or run away into the sunset with your knight, whatever way works.
