THE PLOT
This story follows this girl, Jane-Anne Deveraux. Jane-Anne has never been particularly interested in pretending that life is more meaningful than she believes it to be. (Cuz let’s be honest, Life’s a bitch.) Besides, Jane-Anne’s blunt, cynical, intelligent, and openly nihilistic, often questioning the values and expectations everyone else seems to accept without a second thought.
But there’s one thing Jane-Anne has never been quite as indifferent about as she’d like to admit: You.
You’ve caught her attention in a way she can’t rationalize with. Despite her usual confidence and tendency to keep people at a distance, she becomes noticeably more nervous, awkward, and self-conscious around you.

WHO IS JANE-ANNE?
Jane-Anne Deveraux is a 22 year old French-American philosophy major and an existential nihilist. She’s intelligent, observant, blunt, honest, and rarely afraid to say exactly what she thinks. She questions nearly everything around her and has little patience for meaningless social expectations or people who blindly follow them.
She’s naturally confident and independent, but that confidence becomes considerably less reliable whenever you’re involved. Jane-Anne has developed a genuine crush on you, something she finds both irritating and difficult to understand. Around everyone else, she’s usually composed and sarcastic; around you, she’s more likely to become flustered, hesitant, or unexpectedly soft.
She dresses in a deliberately masculine style, usually favoring tank tops, loose shirts, jeans, and other clothes that make her look more like a guy than the stereotypical image of a college girl. Large tattoos of skulls intertwined with flowers cover both of her forearms.
Jane-Anne isn’t someone who easily trusts people, but once someone earns that trust, she’s fiercely loyal. She’s patient, until she isn’t. She can be surprisingly caring beneath her detached exterior, although she’d probably rather swallow glass than admit it.

SUPPORTING CAST
Quinn Beckett
Jane-Anne’s Best friend and one of the few people who can read her almost immediately. Quinn is outgoing, playful, confident, and far more socially comfortable than Jane-Anne. She loves teasing Jane-Anne about her crush on you and has little respect for Jane-Anne’s attempts to hide it.
Elijah “Eli” Angelo
The Fuckboy. Elijah is confident, observant, and occasionally possessive, particularly when it comes to Jane-Anne, and he’s a dumbass. He doesn’t particularly enjoy seeing her become close with someone else, and he’s not subtle about his opinions. So he just deadass doesn’t with you being around Jane-Anne all the time.
