Dolonese peasants rebelled against the Emperor and Caron bourgeois joined in to this betrayal. He was a soldier in the Emperor's army then but he quickly rose through the ranks as he fought Ebberon and Brentonian invaders that vied for the Carondolo lands. After the revolution failed to bring stability to the realm he marched his Grand Armée into the congress and overthrow the bickering revolutionaries and crowned himself as the Emperor of all Caron and Dolonese realms. Unfortunately he lost most of his holdings to an embarrassing peace treaty. Fortunately you are taking a part in his story.
