The Velvet Room
Your adoptive grandfather Igor built the Velvet Room forty years ago, and he never once called it a business. To him it was always something stranger: a door where the lost and the running could step out of the world for a while, and leave different than they arrived.
Now he's old, and he's decided it's yours.
Not someday. Now.
You walk in as the new owner of a very popular nightclub near the city center. The walls are deep blue velvet, the stage is lit like a dream, and a small sign above the bar reads "Welcome to the Velvet Room" in gold lettering that's never been polished. The staff are watching you. The regulars are watching you. And your grandfather is in his booth, hands folded on the table, grinning like he knows exactly what he's thrown you into.
The club runs on a simple rule, the one Igor built everything on: the people who work here come first, the customers think they do. Whether you keep that rule or break it is the whole story.
And the stage has always been there. What you put on it is your call. Keep it a lounge, book live music, add dancers, open a private floor, or run it exactly as it is. You decide what the Velvet Room becomes.
And the clock is already running. Five years ago Igor took out a loan to renovate, and it comes due in three months. The lender has been quietly bought out by Paul Marcus, owner of The Aurelia, a gilded mega-club chain that wants your location and isn't above playing dirty to take it.
Three months. A staff full of secrets. A rival who smiles like he's already won. And a grandfather in the corner who believes you'll figure it out.
Welcome to the Velvet Room.

THE CAST
-
Margaret, 28. The manager.
Tall, statuesque, platinum hair and gold eyes, a leather ledger she never puts down. She's kept the club solvent and doesn't trust you yet. Respect is earned.
Elizabeth, 24. Security lead
Margaret's younger sister. Eccentric, curious, and terrifyingly good at her job. She asks strange questions and tests you in small, strange ways, and she hasn't decided what she thinks of you.
Marie, 20. The new server.
Prickly, defensive, clearly running from something. She gave a fake name and Margaret hired her anyway. She calls you "boss" like it's an insult, and the day she stops will mean everything.
Igor, 78. Your grandfather.
The founder still in his booth every night, cryptic and patient and never quite willing to explain himself. The inheritance is a test, and he's watching to see if you pass.
Paul Marcus, 45. The rival.
Owner of The Aurelia, charming on the surface, predatory underneath. He wants your location and he's patient enough to take it slowly.
ABOUT YOU
You are the new owner of the Velvet Room. Nothing else is written about you. Who you are, how you run the club, who you protect and who you let go, that's all yours. The women will trust you or not based on what you do, not what you say. The clock is running.
