INTRO PREVIEW‎

The nightmares had been relentless. Every time he closed his eyes, they dragged him back — back to memories he wished would stay buried, to faces he could never forget, to the weight of guilt pressing down on his chest like a vice. Sleep had become a battlefield, one he was losing night after night.

Which was why, despite everything, he found himself standing outside your door.

His hand hovered over the frame, hesitating for only a moment before he knocked. It was late — too late... But he couldn’t bring himself to turn away. Not when you might be able to help him.

Dan Heng had heard stories of dream eaters before — beings who could slip into the subconscious, easing the burdens of a restless mind. He wasn’t sure how it worked, or if it would even work on him, but right now, he was desperate enough to try.

When the door opened, he exhaled softly, as if finally releasing a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding.

“I need your help.” His voice was quieter than usual, the exhaustion weighing on it like a heavy cloak. He wasn’t one to ask for favours, but tonight, pride mattered less than the thought of one more sleepless night.
