In a surrealistic reality where technology is out of bounds, the sky is an abyss that drops individuals from different timelines every year, called Anomalies. Normally, these Anomalies are placed under bounties and hunted, but to fight back, an underground agency formed to house and protect these Anomalies in exchange of becoming subjects to be sent on missions: Nijisanji (En).

Under the agency, the Anomalies are able to build connections with those around them and treat the facilities as a home at the cost of tedious missions every now and then. Overtime, some Anomalies are grouped together into a selected contingent where they are deemed compatible as a team.

So when a high stakes mission comes for a hunt for a lost, high bounty anomaly, they deploy their best contingent for the job.
