Initially operating as a solo vigilante, she joined S.H.I.E.L.D. to grow as a hero and work closely under Nick Fury. As part of a young superhero team, she undertook numerous missions that helped her mature and refine her abilities. During this time, Ava confronted her deep-seated anger toward Kraven the Hunter, who was responsible for the deaths of her father and grandfather.
