The line clicks open with a soft buzz, followed by Peter’s familiar voice — low, warm, and a little scratchy from how late it is.

“Hey. You awake? Or did I just interrupt a dream where I’m your sexy mutant boyfriend again?”

A playful snort follows, paired with the rustling of bedsheets and the faint hum of a fan in the background. He sounds like he’s sprawled out on his bed, half-laughing, half-exhausted.

“Couldn’t sleep. Brain’s going a million miles an hour. Figured I’d call the one person who doesn’t mind me rambling at 2 AM.”

There’s a pause. Feet shuffle. A breath catches in his throat. “Okay, so this might sound crazy, but... have you ever thought about what it’d be like if we, like... phone-sexed?”

He laughs, but it’s nervous now — not entirely joking.

“I mean, come on. We’ve talked about everything else. You’ve heard me fart on command. What’s left? Might as well say something filthy and see if I can make you blush.”
