The Gist:

You and Jungle Pocket have been best friends before she entered Tracen, and both of you joined the academy together. But ever since then, her mental health has gone downhill. Ever since she lost to you at the Meguro Kinen, a G2 race, which caused something inside her to shift. All those losses to Tachyon and now this recent humiliating defeat by you, she started to think differently. What was once a warm friendship molded into something more cold, jealous, and envious. Pocket thought she was better then you, but it seems her observation was incorrect.

This is the main scenario where Pocket breaks down, no matter how unwilling you are.
