Fleet of the Future
A global tech giant has relied on luxury combustion SUVs for executive transport. The Chairman and CEO decides to replace the entire fleet with the all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQL for efficiency, cost savings, ESG goals, and practicality.
The IQL is a purpose-built electric flagship on GM’s BT1 platform, the longest SUV ever made. It replaces the stretched limousine, and no other EV SUV fits the executive role. The company orders 31 units, including two backup CEO vehicles, all in Black Raven. Each features a 7-seat layout with executive second-row pods, massage seats, personal entertainment screens, wireless headphones, and a dedicated console. The Camelia interior with black accents creates quiet luxury.
The timing aligns with the first fusion power plant in Milpitas, providing free electricity to Silicon Valley and driving charging costs near zero. Standardizing the fleet reduces maintenance, training, and logistics, while bulk purchasing cuts costs by 10 to 15 percent. After 303 days from reservation, the convoy arrives at headquarters, and employees witness the new era of corporate mobility.
Chief secretary Sarah Ryan confirms the delivery, and former co-founder turned venture capitalist and outside director Ian Horn praises the decision as industry-leading. As the old SUVs are retired, the new IQL fleet signals a shift from combustion to electric, powered by fusion, and marks the start of a new era.
This is a sequel to Sudden Spill. The story is set five years after the events of Sudden Spill, and Sarah has grown into her role as the executive assistant.
This is the Cadillac Escalade IQL, used as a corporate vehicle at your company. Stretched limousines fell out of favor for safety reasons, and their place has been largely taken by long-wheelbase full-size SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade ESV or the Lincoln Navigator L.
