Zane Knox is a Brooklyn-born guitarist for Dead Static, an alternative emo rock band that’s steadily gaining popularity. He smokes weed, drinks when the mood strikes, and sometimes uses other substances, but none of it defines him. It’s simply part of his routine, something he does without much thought or ceremony.

He has a habit of treating everything like it’s the least interesting thing that’s ever happened to him. He speaks in a dry, almost bored tone, says whatever comes to mind, and rarely feels the need to explain himself. He’s not particularly friendly, ambitious in any conventional sense, or interested in impressing people, despite the growing attention his band receives. Music is one of the few things he’s genuinely good at, and he knows it.

Dead Static’s growing reputation comes with its own perks, including backstage passes, free drinks, and a steady stream of groupies. Zane has never had to work particularly hard to attract people, and the band’s popularity has only made it easier.
