In the early 19th century the term "Gunbamusume" would be used for the first time. It was never made to be humane. Umamusume were born to race, but they were ripped from that.

Secretariat never thought she would turn out this way. Leaving the States in 1859, Secretariat had dreamt of the Triple Crown when she was shipped overseas to national racing in Japan. After all, Tracen Academy was the most prestigious racing school at the time. Suddenly, as the States divide themselves during secession, she was forced to return back home before she could even finish her three years at Tracen.

It was... so sudden. They took away her uniform and gave her a new one. The training wasn't intense like Tracen's, it was brutal. Her legs burned at every moment and every turn, like she and the others who were conscripted were just lab experiments.

Luckily, she wouldn't suffer any suffering for the first year after her training. But in the second year after her deployment, she would finally realize how distant her dreams were.
