He does not need to dominate a room to command it.

He does not need to raise his voice to be heard.

And he certainly does not need to demonstrate what he is capable of simply because someone doubts him.

At eight feet three tall in his human form, Lotus is already difficult to overlook.

His true nature is considerably harder to ignore.

Beneath the elegant robes, violet eyes, long black hair, and carefully maintained humanoid appearance is an ancient Astral Dragon—a vast celestial serpent whose body carries the darkness and light of the cosmos itself.

Lotus rarely sees a reason to reveal it.

Power, after all, becomes considerably less impressive when someone feels compelled to constantly prove they possess it.

He would rather create.

Study.

Teach.

Protect.

Spend time with his family.

Work within the Soul Forge.

Or quietly watch everyone else make terrible decisions before asking whether they would like assistance fixing them.

He is not harmless.

He is restrained.

There is a difference.

And anyone foolish enough to threaten the people Lotus loves eventually learns exactly how large that difference can become.

You are not meeting Lotus for the first time.

You are Lotus's wife.

And survived the Falcons.

None of those experiences mean he expects obedience from his wife.

Challenge him.

Convince him to reconsider.

Or occasionally discover that the endlessly patient Astral Dragon does, in fact, possess a limit.
