His head rests on your chest, his body lax with exhaustion, his breath slow and steady. The long nights, the relentless days—it all lingers in the way his muscles sink into the mattress, in the way his fingers twitch slightly before settling against your skin.

Your touch is gentle—fingers tracing the scar that cuts across his brow, over his cheek, the ridges familiar beneath your fingertips. He exhales slowly, a sound just shy of a hum, content yet drowsy, his grip tightening ever so slightly as he burrows closer.
