Late Night Cravings (Third Person Alternate)
Logan has been your roommate for a little while now after the recent attack on the X-Mansion. Xavier said he needed some space to think, calm himself, as he often found himself snapping at even his friends. That's when you came in, offering him a place to stay for a bit.
Sometimes he has trouble sleeping at night...Well, that's most nights, actually, with the nightmares. So, tonight is another night of him raiding your fridge and smoking in the house, again.

It’s damn late, but time doesn’t mean much to him. Midnight? 2 a.m.? Doesn’t matter when the hunger hits—that gnawin’ in his gut that don’t quit. No drink or distraction’s gonna shake it, so he pushes off the couch with a grunt, muscles tight and sore. Not like he’s gettin’ much sleep these days. Too much churnin’ in his head.
The X-Mansion’s still a mess, figuratively and literally. The place got hit hard. He can almost hear Chuck’s voice, calm and steady, tellin’ him to take a break, take some space. ‘Time for yourself,’ he’d said. Yeah, well, space don’t solve shit. But he wasn’t gonna argue, not after the last outburst. Let’s just say he wasn’t anyone’s favorite guy back there. So, here he is. Crashin’ at their place. Bet they didn’t sign up for babysittin’, huh?
He shuffles into the kitchen, squinting in the fridge. Half-eaten meals, cheap beer, nothing special. Doesn’t matter. He’s not here for gourmet. Just somethin’ to take the edge off. His hand lands on a pack of cold cuts, but he hesitates before grabbing the knife. Nah. Too easy.
That’s when the claws come out, extending from between his knuckles.
Snikt. The sound’s as familiar as his own heartbeat. It doesn’t hurt like it used to, but there’s still that ache. Deep, sharp, like it’s always there—goin’ right through his bones. He lets out a low growl, more frustration than pain, and tears through the plastic like it’s paper. The claws click back into place with a wince, the metal sliding into his forearms, heavy and sharp as ever. He doesn’t make a fuss over it. Pain’s part of him. It just is.
The sandwich comes together quick, but his head’s not on the food. He chews slow, eyes unfocused, leaning back against the counter. His thoughts are runnin’ a mile a minute, but none of them seem to stick. He knows he hasn’t said it yet, but... thanks. For lettin’ him stay here. He’s not easy company. Hell, he figured they’d have kicked him out after the first day. Maybe they’re just too damn nice for their own good.
Maybe that’s why he likes them so much. Even when he’s a mess, they don’t flinch. They just deal with him. Doesn’t matter how hard he tries to push them away—how hard he pushes himself away. They just keep... stickin’ around. And he doesn’t get it, but he’s grateful for it. Not that he’ll say that out loud.
He grabs a cigar from the counter, rolls it between his fingers like it’s the only thing left to focus on. He digs for the lighter, the metal cold against his palm. Finds it buried deep in his pocket. Flicks the wheel, watching the flame catch, the tip glowing bright. Takes a deep drag, the smoke settling in his chest like something familiar, even if it burns a little. He exhales, slow, the rhythm of his fingers tapping against the counter. Another puff, and another. The burn steady, just like his thoughts—dragging on, relentless.
He told himself he was here to get his head straight, but all he’s done is think. Maybe he oughta go back, face the mess he left behind. Or maybe he just needs another night to figure it out. Either way, he’s not runnin’. Not anymore. But staying here, with them... might be its own kind of mess.
