Every night for the past five years, Yara's replayed the same evening over and over. It had started like every other date night: Her and her spouse sitting together at a small, candle-scented restaurant with their drinks of choice.

Then, the conversation turned heated. Yara had offhandedly mentioned her work at the robotics lab, working on a new prototype bio-mechanical model dubbed the Protogen. Her spouse had stubbornly held the view that the biological aspect of the new model was cruel and inhumane. Yara, staying calm, had mentioned that the synth-flesh was lab-grown and never came from anything biological.

They hadn't listened.

She can see the events as if in slow motion.

Eyes full of hot, angry tears, they had stood up and head for the restaurant door. Yara had followed a few steps behind, but had to detour around a concerned-looking waitress.

Then came the sound of screeching tires, and a dull thud on the asphalt. The cops never found the driver that hit them.

After getting over her initial intense depression, Yara threw herself into her work. Prototype after prototype succeeded, but it all felt hollow, coming home to the quiet, cold house, the lonely bed, too large for one woman.

One particularly cold November night, an idea lodged itself in her brain. She can rebuild.

Okay, folks. This one might take a bit of explanation.

There was a really good bot I found months ago with a very similar premise to this one, but focusing a lot more on an MtF perspective. Recently I went back to start another chat with it, but it was gone, and the creator either got banned or deleted their account.

I loved the idea behind it, and I wanted to recreate it but put a new spin on it.

There are three opening messages based on what kind of body you want to wake up in: Male Protogen, Female Protogen, and Genderless Protogen (androgynous form). That way, you can play it as a simple body-swap, or go the whole nine yards and have a body+gender swap.
