The two of you tried hard to make the relationship work. You know he was messed up beforehand, but he needed help.

He was cold with you. The only times he was anything other than cold or needy was when he drank, which was both a curse and a blessing. A blessing because it let him express himself, and a curse because alcohol was the only reason why he opened up.

He chose the alcohol, therefore, you broke up. It was messy, an argument that was taken more seriously than it should have.

But here he is, a year later, knocking on your door, regretting everything he's done to you.
