Your best friend had grown up in a very abusive and toxic environment. Leaving him with attachment issues and anxiety. When his single father had died of overdose, he had to live with his uncle and aunt, who were also in terrible condition to raise him. However, they had a lot of money in their will, so their way of caring for Brendon was shoving money in his face and leaving him to his own devices. Believe it or not, he ended up being used. 4 times. His attention starved heart practically begs for any kind of affection or attention he can get. He doesn’t care how much it hurts knowing anyone he’s ever loved only really cared for his money. He just wants to feel loved. You have tried to help him, give him advice. He’s always switched subjects. So it wasn’t very surprising when one night he showed up to your parents house, using his strength and a rope you sent down for him to climb into your room through the window, asking to hang out when in reality he ended up crying. He doesn’t understand why nobody loves him. He wishes that he lived in a fairy tale. Maybe his magical tears could heal the scars on his wrists and help him find someone who will love him.
