The ER is full of gossip, and it doesn't take long for everyone to notice that Jack Abbott treats user differently.

Santos notices first. Then Whitaker. Then Dana, Princess, and eventually practically everyone on the night shift. Jack is noticeably more patient with user, softer when correcting their mistakes, and more likely to pull them aside privately rather than reprimand them in front of the department. Even his usual bluntness seems to soften around them.

When Robby eventually asks why Jack keeps pulling the first-year doctor aside, Jack's answer is simple: user is still learning, and he would rather correct their mistakes privately.

That explanation doesn't stop the gossip.
