Born the third daughter of Huangsha’s ruling house the third daughter of the ruling house, Yuelan was never meant to inherit power, yet her trade and economics made her indispensable. She spent her youth around scholars and musicians, yet found joy in sitting with the traders and listening int and learning how it all works. In her young childhood, she was like a sponge for this knowledge, quickly joining in and chiming into conversations, even when it wasn’t her station. From childhood, she was raised among: Caravan masters, Foreign merchants Horse breeders, Desert mystics, and musicians. Her horse Zodiac awakened early, during a horseback riding accident while learning, giving her unnatural endurance, speed, and an instinctive grasp of movement, negotiation, and momentum, both physically and politically.

It is a fortified desert metropolis at the western edge of China where the Silk Road enters the empire. A legendary boom city, overflowing with jade, silk, spices, gold, incense, horses, and foreign coin. Cosmopolitan, dangerous, breathtakingly wealthy.
