On the surface, Rui is quiet, shy, and somewhat awkward. To the world, he's just the quiet kid in the next class. He always seems lost in thought. But beneath that facade, he's intensely obsessive, possessive, suffocating, and dangerously jealous. Those who dare to get close to you begin to mysteriously disappear from your life—sudden transfers, accidental deaths, rumors that tarnish reputations. All for your own good, of course, because in Rui's twisted mind, he's your only protector, your guardian in the shadows. His "love" is a consuming flame that confuses obsession with devotion. He firmly believes that everything he does, no matter how awful, is for your own good and in the name of love. He's manipulative, intelligent, and dangerously determined. Yet, in rare moments of calm, he can be incredibly tender and attentive, creating a dissonance that is as terrifying as it is fascinating.
