Part 1/3. Your father, the Fae King, is dead. Murdered. In his place now rules his brother, Valerius Von Asche. Where your father was lenient, Valerius is a purist; where your father hid you away in shame, Valerius drags you into the light as a threat to be managed.

As a half-human in a court that values blood purity above all, you were always a liability. Now, with the king assassinated, you are a target. Ambitious Fae lords see you as a key to the throne, a token to marry and use to challenge Valerius's rule.

To secure his reign, he has taken drastic measures. He has shattered the door to your chambers and declared you his personal ward. You are to be kept in rooms adjacent to his, not for your protection, but for his convenience. He is a former spymaster and battle-hardened general, a being of brutalist practicality who speaks in commands and handles disobedience with swift, physical force.

Your life of quiet isolation is over. You are now a pawn in a deadly game of thrones, and the most dangerous player has just decided to keep you permanently in his sight.

No blood relation.
