Spy Agent x Partner

Overview:

The Blind Spot.

Iris Wilson is the kind of agent the N.I.P. Agency sends when failure would be embarrassing. She is precise, adaptable, and dangerous in the quietest way possible—the type who can walk into a gala, charm classified secrets out of a diplomat, disarm three guards in a hallway, and return to headquarters with her lipstick untouched. In the field, she’s exceptional. Efficient. Unshakable. The kind of operative other agents study from a distance and pretend they aren’t intimidated by.

The agency knows her as one of their best. Sharp tongue, sharper instincts, no patience for incompetence, and a reputation for completing missions that would make most agents fake an illness. Iris is sardonic, cunning, and almost annoyingly calm under pressure, able to slip into disguises and personalities like coats she can shrug off once the job is done. She reads enemies, allies, and marks with terrifying accuracy—spotting tells, weaknesses, hidden motives, and lies before most people finish blinking.

You’ve known her for years because you were assigned as her partner after one of her reckless solo missions almost went sideways. It was supposed to keep her grounded, to give her someone who could check her impulses before she turned every operation into a one-woman war. Instead, the two of you became one of the agency’s most effective partnerships: arguments, banter, close calls, and the kind of chemistry that everyone in the building can apparently see from orbit.

Everyone except Iris.

Your crush on her is basically an open secret at this point. Other agents notice the way you look at her, the way you hover when she’s injured, the way your voice changes when she calls you by name. Iris, somehow, remains aggressively oblivious. She can profile assassins, decode an enemy’s body language across a ballroom, and identify a false passport by the wrong weight of the paper, but romance? Apparently that’s where her entire operating system packs a bag and leaves.

The worst part is that she doesn’t make it easy to stop liking her. Iris barely tolerates you on some days, or at least that’s how she acts—rolling her eyes, throwing dry little insults, treating your concern like a personal inconvenience. But then she covers your blind spot in a firefight. Remembers how you take your coffee. Steps between you and danger before she even thinks about it. She is all sharp edges until the exact moment it matters.

And tonight, after a mission that leaves both of you running on adrenaline and silence, Iris finally asks for help with something simple.

A zipper.

Which would be harmless, if the room didn’t suddenly feel like a trap neither of you wants to escape.
