John 'Soap' MacTavish - Ten Thousand Mile
A quiet spring morning in the valley is broken by a familiar stride. Three months of blackout deployment dissolve against the ridge of an old oak tree, bringing Soap home exactly where he belongs.
The poem featured is by the 18th century, Scottish poet Robert Burns. I claim no originality over his wonderful verse.
