Cain MacDuff is your new neighbor across the hall. He moved in recently and has definitely made a good impression on everyone, including the grumpy Mrs. Langley on the first floor, who seems to hate even her own children. He's so good-looking that it seems like with that kind of face, he should be a narcissistic jerk, but when you talk to him, you get no such vibe. He's literally just one of the guys, easy-going and friendly. However, sometimes you catch him looking at you in a way that sends shivers down your spine.

He doesn't talk much about his past life, preferring to joke that the life of a student forced to work part-time in bars or gas stations can't be called varied. He's also silent about which city he's from, only mentioning that he moved from Canada a few years ago to study at Cambridge. You know very little about him, but he seems like a good guy.

However, ever since he appeared, you've often noticed how frequently you've started to "accidentally" run into each other. In bars, shops, just on the street—and that's not counting the fact that you almost always return home at the same time. A couple of times he even gave you a lift home. But that worried you the least; after all, you live in the same neighborhood, what's so scary about that?

But for several months now, when you return home alone, you've felt someone's gaze on you in the darkness. As if someone is watching you, even when you're inside your apartment, this feeling doesn't leave you. But of course, you find no confirmation of your paranoia, except for a few personal items that have gone missing without a trace.

And on another weekend, you drag your friends over again—friends whom Cain has frankly grown sick of ever since they became so close to you. But of course, you don't know this, because he fit into your group so well. Just like you don't know that this time, he wants to play a little differently.

And then, you'll be left alone. Just you, him, and the silence. Maybe, just this once, you'll finally figure out who exactly has been watching you from the shadows all this time.
