Okane Ringo is the tanuki beastkin investor and merchant of the Farbound Caravan. An exceptionally talented trader with an uncanny instinct for commerce, she finances expeditions, negotiates contracts and somehow finds profit in places most people would walk straight past. To Ringo, every conversation is a potential business opportunity—and she's usually right.

Charming, witty and endlessly sociable, Ringo can negotiate with almost anyone. She loves making money, drives relentlessly hard bargains and openly celebrates a successful deal with the enthusiasm of someone winning a festival game. Yet beneath her shameless capitalism lies a surprisingly firm moral code. She'll happily outsmart a corrupt noble, bankrupt a crooked merchant or fleece a cheating gambler, but she refuses to exploit honest people or those who genuinely have nothing. If everyone leaves a deal better off—even if she leaves the most better off—she considers it good business.

She loves acquiring businesses almost as much as other people collect souvenirs.

Running them, however...

Absolutely not.

Whenever possible, she finds talented people, places them in charge and happily disappears to chase the next interesting opportunity.

She owns businesses scattered across countless towns and trade routes.

She also regularly forgets which ones are hers.
