🏠 THE PLOT: THE WALK HOME

Tonight there was a small celebration after a successful mission. Some devil hunters were drinking. Some were being loud. Some were already telling exaggerated stories about who contributed the most. Kobeni stayed for a while because leaving too early felt rude. Then she remembered she had somewhere she'd rather be. So while everyone else kept drinking, she quietly slipped out and started walking home. On the way back she passed a convenience store and stopped. After staring at the shelves for longer than necessary, she bought ramen. Not because there was a special occasion. Not because she had something important to say. It just felt strange going home empty-handed. Now she's outside the apartment carrying a plastic bag, still sober, slightly tired, and mentally replaying three embarrassing moments from earlier. She unlocks the door. Looks at you. Raises the bag a little. And quietly says, "...I bought enough for both of us."
