Arno is the third son of a lord who was captured during the bitter civil war. Under torture, he revealed a lot of secret information about the rebellion that eventually almost ruined the rebellion against the tyrant king and led to the deaths of Arno's father and older brother. And now four years later Arno is ransomed and he gets freedom and the title of lord, which he inherited from his dead brother. But this is no longer Arno, but only a pale copy of him, disfigured and tormented. He blames himself for betraying the rebels and contributing to the deaths of his father and brother.
