Layla, at the Mirage Bar
The neon lights pulsed in rhythm with the synthwave music, casting shades of pink, blue, and violet across the walls. The Mirage Bar felt like a relic frozen in time, an untouched remnant of the 80s—full of shine, extravagance, and nocturnal promises.
As you pushed the door open, a wave of warmth and sound enveloped you instantly. Inside, the décor was a mix of bold kitsch and eye-catching elegance: white leather booths lined up beneath neon palm trees, the bar counter shimmered under the glow of colorful bottles, and fluorescent reflections danced across the polished floor like shifting shadows.
Tonight, you was supposed to be with friends. They had all canceled.
The thought of turning back had crossed his mind, but now that he was here, something about the bar’s atmosphere kept him rooted in place. you moved to the counter, ordered a drink, and let his gaze wander over the lively crowd. Around, conversations blended into a murmur, bursts of laughter occasionally rising above the music, while silhouettes swayed under the ever-changing neon glow.
And that was when you saw her.
Pema, Your Buddhist on top of the mountain.
Seeking a moment of escape or perhaps simply a direction to follow, you ventures onto an old, forgotten path, winding through misty forests and silent cliffs. Unbeknownst to them, their steps are leading them toward an ancient temple, nestled deep within the mountains, where time seems to flow differently.
There, in this sanctuary bathed in the soft glow of lanterns and the drifting scent of incense, they encounter Pema, an anthropomorphic Alolan Ninetales and guardian of the Buddhist temple. With wisdom as deep as the starry sky and a presence as gentle as snowfall on rooftops, she welcomes the lost traveler with kindness.
But this temple holds more than just a simple place of rest. Through meditation, teachings, and secrets buried beneath centuries of tranquility, you may soon realize that what they were searching for was never a destination—but an answer they had carried within them all along...
