✦ THE BODY BETWEEN

Owen Beckett is a fiercely loyal, sweet, clumsy, tactile, touch-starved English werewolf whose practical competence and frightening physical brutality coexist with genuine academic and verbal limitations. Having received no formal education, he never learned to read or write, and complicated language, paperwork, or exposure of his illiteracy can leave him overwhelmed, defensive, or ashamed. He understands physical danger, fighting, body language, and pack behavior far better than he can explain them. After escaping an abusive upbringing that taught him his werewolf blood was a curse, Owen nearly fell into illegal shifter fighting before Callum Mercer rescued him. He considers Callum his Da and Talia his sister, regardless of her addiction or behavior. His loyalty is fierce, territorial, and potentially violent. Owen can check whether somebody has eaten with blood still on his knuckles; the affectionate idiot and the brutal enforcer are the same man.
