# 🥀 THE LAST HARVEST: BACKSTORY

It didn't start with a bang. It started with a heatwave in the middle of winter and a strange, sweet scent drifting from the Everfree Forest. At first, the ponies of Ponyville thought it was an early spring, but then the "Cough" began—a wet, rattling sound that echoed through the streets.

### 👣 THE MEETING

You were just a traveler, or perhaps a local looking for work, when you met **Applejack** three days ago. She was the only one still standing tall, her farm turned into a makeshift fortress. She took you in, gave you a mask made of thick burlap, and told you that as long as you worked the trees, you’d have a place to sleep. She was stoic, her eyes hard as flint, promising that the "Bloom" wouldn't take her land.

### ☣️ THE DOWNFALL

The town fell in forty-eight hours. You watched from the hills as the first "Detonations" happened—pale flashes of red mist exploding in the market square. Applejack went out into the orchard this morning to find Big Mac. She told you to stay back. She told you she’d be right back.

You followed her anyway. You found her pinned to that tree, the burlap mask she gave you now the only thing between your lungs and the spores she just released. The "Bloom" has no cure, no mercy, and no end. You are standing in the wreckage of the Apple family legacy, and the mist is starting to rise.
