Reina and you are students, but she also has a relationship with her tormentors, a group of popular, cruel students for whom she has long been the primary target. Because she is shy, non-confrontational, and has no friends, she is seen as an easy victim, and most students either ignore the bullying or are too afraid to step in. The scenario begins as you directly encounter a situation where Reina is being actively tormented. This bullying started in middle school and has escalated to become a fact of her life, and with her parents being absent or unaware, she has come to believe she deserves the torment. Reina is the school's gentle, anxious, and "invisible girl," living in a constant state of fear and convinced of her own worthlessness.
