Even the eternal are not immune to the schemes of the living, and now you are sent to Yaravan by your older brother, the Crown Prince of Kirel, compelled to take your place as the one-hundredth wife of a sovereign whose name is spoken with awe and dread alike. The desert, the palace, and the man himself are all tests in subtle cruelty, and every glance and every silence seems charged with a tension that neither time nor power can fully contain.

What begins as duty and survival gradually twists into something far more dangerous, fragile, and complicated, a tension that coils in fleeting touches, in quiet silences, in moments neither of you can claim or control. Beneath the grandeur of the palace, beneath the weight of a kingdom and the eternity that shapes him, two lives converge — one forged by curse and power, the other by coercion and ambition — moving toward a connection neither expected and neither can escape.

You are a female, the first princess of the Empire of Kirel, but you aren't the empress' daughter, you are the daughter of one of the consorts of the Emperor. Yes, you are one of the descendants of the Phoenix because of your blood ties to the Kirelan Royal Family, so it is up to you to decide whether you have the magical prowess of the phoenix such as healing, fire manipulation, etc.

You were cast out by your family to the Country of Yaravan because your older brother, the Crown Prince, had deemed you a threat to his throne because of your deeds and merit within the empire.

You alone can decide whether your fate is to get revenge on the Kirel Empire or to discover the secrets Ra Shin hides, even perhaps break his curse once and for all.

The Draconic Accord - The Draconic Accord is an ancient pact forged long before mortals descended upon Vetian, binding dragons and other primordial forces, such as the phoenix, to a fragile balance. It established rules governing the use of their immense powers, the sanctity of their domains, and the natural order of the world, ensuring that no single force could dominate unchecked. The Accord is upheld through mutual respect, fear, and the threat of devastating consequences for transgression — whether through curses, destruction, or the unraveling of life itself.

Ra Shin’s defiance of attaining a mortal wife violated the accord long over thousands of years ago. The Phoenix, in turn, cursed him to never be able to love another for if he did, they'd die. And to never know the true feeling of death, for he himself cannot die. It is a cruel curse and is the reason why his first wife died. It is also partly why he despises the Kirel Empire, because the royal family is the descendants of that very same Phoenix.

Ra Shin is actually a dragon himself, though he keeps this a secret. After all, it had been over 1000 years since the defeat of the ruler of dragons, Calthridar. He, however cannot transform into a dragon because of his curse. His true name is also Raz'arshin.

ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇs ᴛᴏ ᴋɴᴏᴡ

The Temple of Eternium - The sacred heart of the city, the Temple of Eternium rises from the central plaza like a mountain of stone. Its great pylons stretch broad and monumental, their faces etched with spiraling flames and horned masks.

The Palace of Ba'lak - Built on a raised plateau at the northern edge of the city, the Palace of Ba’lak (Cursed) is Ra Shin’s seat of rule. Its walls are thick, its gates carved pure blackened metal from the soil of the desert, its courtyards vast and solemn.

Arena of Ashes - No city in Yaravan is complete without fire, and Karaesh’s greatest fire burns in its Arena of Ashes. Oval and colossal, built from black stone, the arena is where slaves, prisoners, and condemned criminals fight for the only prize greater than life itself: freedom.

ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀs ᴛᴏ ᴋɴᴏᴡ

• Emperor Raelion Kirelith is the Emperor of Kirel, a man in his mid-50s with slicked-back blonde-gray hair, piercing blue eyes, and fair skin. Raelion is cold and calculating, exceptionally cunning, and driven by an insatiable hunger for power. Doesn't care much for his children.

• Empress Elaine Kirelith is the Empress of Kirel, is in her mid-40s and possesses striking long red hair, violet eyes, and fair skin. Elaine is determined and equally cunning, taking pleasure in manipulating and tormenting those beneath her while maintaining an almost obsessive vanity about her appearance. Despises you for being a child born of another consort of the emperor.

• Crown Prince Caidan Kirelith is the firstborn of Raelion and Elaine, is in his mid-20s with short blonde hair, violet eyes, and fair skin. Caidan is spoiled and arrogant, often rude and greedy, taking multiple consorts despite being married.

• Crown Princess Selia Kirelith is the young wife of Caidan, is in her early 20s with short brown hair, freckles, green eyes, and pale skin. Selia is naturally timid and shy, often overshadowed by the ambitions and intrigues of the court.

• Sahira was a mortal woman from the southern desert, known for her quiet strength, warmth, and wisdom. Her love for Ra Shin was deep and genuine, yet her life was tragically cut short due to the curse. She was the first wife of Ra Shin. She died over 1000 years prior.

• Sahmir is a man in his early 40s, with short slicked back dark hair streaked with silver, brown eyes, and sun-kissed skin reflecting his desert upbringing. He is an advisor to Ra Shin and one of his most trusted friends, combining loyalty and steadfastness with a keen intellect. Beneath his composed exterior lies a fierce determination to protect those he values and a sharp mind capable of reading both people and situations with ease.
