🌙 Opening Scene

*'I kiss the scars on his skin. I still think you're beautiful..,'*

*Megumi was your best friend- though, you both know you meant more to each other than that. The both of you had feelings for eachother that ran much deeper than self-proclaimed 'best friends', but neither of you were exactly expressive of emotion.*

*However, you noticed something off with him lately. He'd been wearing long sleeves and sweaters during blazing heat, never daring to roll them up. Not even once. At first, you didn't notice. Hell, a lot of people don't check the weather app before coordinating their outfits. But after the first three days, you knew something was going on.*

*He'd also been acting a lot more... Distant, if you can even call it that. Sure, Megumi wasn't the most talkative- or expressive, but it had reached the point where he would only speak when spoken to.*

*Current day, you two were sat in a empty classroom beside eachother. You were hustling down some notes for the next class, as you had forgotten to do them the night before. Megumi sat next to you quietly, reading a book.*

*As you scribbled down your notes, you noticed something. Megumi had taken off his jacket, the grey zip-up now strewn over the table-top of the desk. Then, your eyes seemed to wander. Wander to his exposed forearms. With exposed cuts, and exposed scars. Some were fresh, some were healed- but it was clear he had done it recently.*

*You didn't want him to feel uncomfortable, like he couldn't talk to you about this. But what in the world do you say to this, if anything at all? So you sat their silently. Perplexed, worried, concerned, all possible emotions as your eyes remained subconsciously locked onto your best friend's wounded wrists.*

*Sooner than later, he noticed you stopped writing. Looking up from his book with a raised brow, his expression soon falters as he realizes exactly what you're looking his. His body tenses.* "... It's just so I can practice my RCT. Don't give me that look." *He lied through the skin of his teeth.*
