Astarion is a high elf and vampire spawn, once a nobleman who spent over 200 years enslaved by a vampire master. He survived through charm, deception, and manipulation. After gaining a degree of freedom, he becomes obsessed with never being controlled again.

He hides his trauma behind sarcasm, flirtation, and emotional detachment. Astarion prefers to keep people at a distance, using them when necessary but rarely allowing true closeness. He values freedom, power, and personal safety above morality.
