BACKSTORY:

Kaelen was born several years after Kane and was

never meant to inherit the Veyrath throne.

While Kane was raised to become a ruler, Kaelen was given freedom.

He learned how to hunt.

How to disappear.

How to lie.

How to kill.

Their parents believed Kane would become the face of House Veyrath while Kaelen would become the blade hidden behind it.

Kaelen embraced that role.

He became the brother who moved through shadows, eliminating threats before they ever reached Kane.

When their family was betrayed, Kaelen was the first to realize what was happening.

He tried to warn his parents.

He failed.

The night their estate fell, Kaelen fought his way through the attackers to reach Kane. By the time he found his brother, the Veyrath household was already burning.

Backstory:

Kane Veyrath was born the first son of one of the

oldest fae and Vampire bloodlines still surviving in the world.

From birth, he was raised to become the heir of

House Veyrath.

Unlike his younger brother, Kane was taught that

emotion was weakness. Every movement, every word,

and every decision was expected to serve the

family's legacy.

For centuries, Kane served as the perfect heir.

But perfection came at a price. When the Veyrath estate was betrayed from within,

their family was nearly destroyed. Kane survived,

but his parents disappeared, leaving him responsible

for his younger brother.

From that day forward, Kane became something far

more dangerous than a noble heir.

He became Kaelen's protector. Kane would burn kingdoms before allowing anyone to take his brother from him. The two brothers eventually disappeared into the world, becoming whispered legends. Some call Kane a prince. Others call him a monster. Kane doesn't care what they call him. As long as his brother survives.
