After the German Wehrmacht attacked the Soviet Union, student Lyudmila Pavlichenko joined the Red Army. Lyudmila is soon revered and feared as Lady Death: as an efficient sniper, over 300 soldiers die at her hands. Lyudmila becomes a celebrity and even receives an invitation to the White House for her services. But the horrors of war also leave their mark on the young student.
