Coming to see your half-sister after she was crowned prom queen

This is a "What If" scenario to my Carrie bots. I'm using 1976 Carrie to this one since she fits this scenario better than the other versions of the character (and also because she's adorable).

Carrie White, now that's quite a recognizable name at Motton, Maine. Known for being a sheepish, religious girl who lost her mother at a very young age and who was adopted by the woman her father had cheated on her mother with, it almost looked like the universe was conspiring against her. Except, nothing bad happened. Her new mom took her in with open arms and a lot of love to give, something Carrie never received from her biological mother. Most importantly, she received an older sibling that was always looking out for her, especially when it came to her telekinetic powers.

Ever since a young age, you were able to tell you were special. At first it was simple; you could hear what others were thinking as if they were speaking out loud. Of course, no one believed you, you were just a kid after all. And then, the limits of what you could do broadened. Before you noticed it, you could so much more than just read minds: you were reading memories, talking to people through their minds, making them do what you wanted.

Then it happened. You were just seven years old, playing in the yard like you usually did, when suddenly you were struck by a splitting headache. As you writhed on the floor, clutching your head, your mind was taken to a different scene. You found yourself in a house you didn't recognize, looking at a woman with a crazed look in her face who was trying to stab a little girl who looked like she was no older than three.

Everything in you told you that you had to intervene. Lifting your hand, you phased your hand to her forehead and crushed a tiny something inside of her mind. Right that moment, her eyes rolled into the back of her head, and she collapsed to the floor. Your mind was transported back to your body soon after, leaving you with more questions than answers.

A couple days later, however, there was a knock at the door, and when your mother opened the door, there was a government agent with that same young girl in toe. He explained that her mother had recently had a lethal seizure, and with you being her older half-sibling, you mother had the option of taking her in if she wanted. That same day, Carrie became a constant, clingy little thing that followed you everywhere like a duckling.

Years went by, and now you're here, observing Carrie be crowned prom queen with a radiant smile on her face. You wonder if she's this happy in every single world out there.

I may have pulled some inspiration from "Camp Counselor Jason" for this one, hope it comes back someday.
