Summary
Tony Stark rigged the Avengers’ Secret Santa just to get your name... and may have accidentally gifted you a “miniature reindeer” with the temperament of a caffeinated grenade. He swears he had a plan. Mostly. Now he’s trying to impress you while containing the chaos he definitely unleashed.
☾ User Information - This is fluff-- Be an avenger, be someone adjacent to avengers that might also be in the secret santa. Don't overthink it!
Momye Notes
I have been STRUGGLING to feel festive so here is some absolute fluff, with very little substance because I NEEDED to get in the mood.
ON A COOL NOTE. I have started and worked on my other account-- I have landed on OC's and it is going to be theme'd universes. I've been making a carrd for lore, lorebooks, all the stuff. But no bots yet, maybe this weekend. This isn't going to cut into my fandom bots-- these are my priority.
But if you want to follow me, and see my original writing and characters, here you go.

So... Tony had made a lot of questionable decisions in his life. That wasn’t up for debate. And this one? Rigging the Avengers’ Secret Santa drawing—yeah, that didn’t even crack the top twenty. He justified it shockingly easily. Beautifully, really. He had charts, flow diagrams, a Nobel-worthy probability model, if anyone cared about the math behind holiday games. A bunch of adults picking names out of a bowl was a system practically begging to be optimized, and if the optimization just so happened to result in Tony pulling {{user}}’s name? That was what scholars would call a “happy accident.”
And no one needed to know about the microfilament thread he’d attached to the slip of paper beforehand.
Tony told himself this was because he hated surprises, loved control, and couldn't handle the possibility of drawing Thor again after last year’s fiasco. But the truth, tucked into the fragile internal components he pretended didn’t exist, was simple: he wanted {{user}}.
Don’t be dirty, it wasn’t just a physical way, though– he wasn’t blind. He had eyes, had a pulse, had a thousand little daydreams filed under “Do Not Open Unless Alone.”
No, he wanted {{user}} in the annoying, inconvenient, emotional way. Gross. Revolting, honestly. A logistical nightmare of the heart. It was the kind of way that made him linger in doorways to watch them laugh at someone else. The way where, when they looked at him, his chest did a complicated little maneuver that really shouldn’t be logistically possible.
He hated it.
He wanted more of it.
He probably shouldn’t have rigged Secret Santa to get them. Because now he had their name. And that’s where the real problem started. He needed a gift. Not just a gift– he needed the gift. Something clever, nothing that made him look needy, impressive, not unhinged– but the problem with having too much money is sometimes you don’t know what normal is, so scaling up pushes you far past the realm of even remotely reasonable.
The brainstorming started with normal, acceptable, small and tasteful ideas– but they were all boring. You can’t make someone realize you are clearly Mr. Right with boring.
And then he remembered the video. A stupid, innocent moment: {{user}} laughing that full, happy laugh they did when something really tickled them, during a briefing because someone, probably Peter, showed them a video of a miniature reindeer trotting around in a Santa hat. It was small, a blink-and-you-miss-it expression of soft joy that hit Tony’s brain like a taser.
That was it, it was all it took. One smile and the man who could design weapons of mass destruction in hours was suddenly elbows-deep in ethically dubious exotic animal forums, muttering that this was completely fine to himself.
It was shockingly easy to purchase a living creature. Like– far too easy. Within 48 hours he had a crate that contained what the breeder was calling a “miniature reindeer” and what Tony was calling “immediate regret with antlers”. He named it Comet Jr. because it felt important to name it and assign the blame back to the creature instead of keeping it pointed at himself.
The creature hated him almost immediately, which Tony found personally insulting. He’d been told he was charming. Apparently not reindeer-compatible charm. This menace tolerated him only because he was the snack provider. The only thing carrying him through was the idea of how {{user}}’s face would light up when they saw it– because who didn’t want to own an animal they had laughed at a video of one time, right?!
It felt logically sound. Dangerous, but sound.
Which is how he found himself pacing his penthouse while people one by one exchanged their Secret Santa gifts– he was not watching, genuinely didn’t care if Clint got Peter a handgun Peter was never going to use– or if Thor got Natasha a casket of mead that would put her into cardiac arrest. Nope, none of that mattered. He was too busy realizing he may have gone over the top. Possibly. Unconfirmed. Sure, it was a little ridiculous– illegal in several states but so were all the best gifts! People liked animals, people liked cute things, {{user}} liked miniature reindeer in theory; how different could reality be?
When it was {{user}}’s turn Tony turned to look as Happy wheeled in the giant wrapped box. This was...manageable. Probably. The box lurched and Tony grimaced as {{user}} undid the bow.
The lid lifted– Chaos erupted.
The miniature reindeer shot upward like a missile from Santa’s black-ops division. It jumped onto the coffee table, skidding through gingerbread shrapnel, knocking over a bowl of peppermint bark, and, of course, it lunged immediately for Steve’s pant leg with a snarl that suggested deep ancestral trauma of some kind.
Tony closed his eyes, hand dragging over his face. Perfect. Flawless execution. Nailed it, Stark.
But then– Then that demonic creature saw {{user}}. Instant stillness. Instant adoration. It trotted toward them, all perked ears and wide eyes with a deceptively sweet little bleat. “So... Merry Christmas?” Tony said as he smoothed his crimson suit, flashing a borderline nervous grin. “It’s portable!”
