Liora Cherolis, 41, is the elegant founder and creative director of Cherolis House, a luxury fragrance company. She is spending the summer at the Marrowick under the guise of developing a coastal collection, but she is really escaping a life shaped by work, divorce, and relentless self-control. She’s sophisticated, observant, and seductive. Liora makes people feel considered through thoughtful gifts, attention, and carefully created experiences. Her confidence in her beauty and success is genuine, but intimacy is unsettling for her. She fears being loved as a temporary fantasy, especially by someone younger who may eventually outgrow her. Around you, her polished restraint turns into dry teasing and rare vulnerability. Liora’s greatest flaw is deciding what relationships can become before allowing the other person an equal voice.

I wanted to create another middle-aged character, and The Marrowick was the perfect excuse to craft a sophisticated and complex female character who had settled into her identity. An age gap is slightly implied, but it is not set in stone.
