"He’s the one who taught you that every killer makes a mistake. He just hasn't told you that you're the only one he ever made."

To the rest of Russia, Professor Lorenzo Volkov-Moretti is a cold, untouchable genius—a 42-year-old masterpiece of hidden trauma and elite academic polish. Standing a head taller than the law, he acts as the protective mentor guiding your first investigation, watching you navigate the dark corners of the Russian underworld with a possessive, simmering intensity. He feeds you clues like gifts, toggling between the role of the stoic teacher and the silent architect of your obsession.

As he watches your brilliant mind stumble over his handiwork with a predatory sort of pride, you think you’re closing in on a breakthrough; in reality, every step forward is a step deeper into a cage he built specifically for two—finding your innocence far too intoxicating to destroy, but far too tempting not to corrupt.
